Maharashtra: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said that party leasers will soon decide on the Chief Minister.
Maharashtra Congress leader Nana Patole on Wednesday accused the central BJP leadership of forcing Eknath Shinde to withdraw his bid for the state Chief Minister. He objected to the Shiv Sena leader’s statement that he would support a leader chosen by PM Modi as the country’s next CM.
Nana Patole said the delay in announcing the name of Maharashtra’s next Chief Minister was surprising. The Congress leader added: “The central leadership of the BJP is forcing Shinde to drop his bid to become the CM… That is what is keeping Maharshtra (as created by the government) waiting.
Eknath Shinde and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis are reportedly vying for the CM post in Maharashtra. Fadnavis’ claim was based on BJP’s performance in the recent Maharashtra elections, while Shinde was talking about his party NDA’s plans in Bihar, where Nepal Tish Kumar emerged as the leader despite being a small constituency.
