Job Profile of Community Health Officer (CHO)
The CHO cadre is part of the initiative under Ayushman Bharat to strengthen sub-centres as Health and Wellness Centers (H&WC) for expansion of primary healthcare al sub-centre area by strengthening implementation of public health programs including disease prevention and health.
Thus, the selected candidates will be appointed as CHOs in Sub-Centre Health and Wellness Centers to lead primary health care teams consisting of front line workers like Women Health Workers (ANMs), Male Health Workers (MPWs) and ASHAs working under the Sub-Centre It is required.
NHM CHO appointment eligibility criteria
Educational Qualification for Community Health Officer
B.Sc (Nursing) / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing – Registered Nurse Registered Midwife (RNRM) from a recognized institution / Bachelor of Science in Nursing / GNM course passed from a recognized institution or university and registered with Assam Nurse Midwives and Health Visitor council.
NHM Assam CHO Age Limit:
Candidates should be less than 35 years of age, which has been relaxed by 5 years from 1st July 2022 for SC and ST candidates.
Other Criteria: Candidates should have proficiency in regional/ local languages and dialects.
Stipend: Stipend Rs. 10,000/- per month + Rs. 10,000/- per month for Fooding / Lodging maximum six months.
Remuneration: After successful completion of the course CHOs, if accepted under NHM, will he/she receive Rs. 25,000/ per month and performance based incentive up to Rs. 15,000/- per month.

All applications will be subject to a screening process and candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained merit wise in their last qualifying course final year examination i.e., their last qualifying examination (final year B. Sc Nursing Course/Post Basic B). nursing courses).
