In Sukma district, security forces killed at least 10 Maoists in a forest clash.

The encounter took place in Kolajuguda, Dantewada, Nagaram and Bandar Padar forests in Sukma district.

Bastar district Superintendent of Police Sunderaj P said personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were involved in the operation.

Inspector General said, “The forces had received information about the presence of Maoists in the area. We are yet to be sure that the bodies of the Maoists.

The team of soldiers seized various weapons including INSAS rifles, AK-47 rifles and SLR rifles. The search is on.

“Many details are awaited as the team is still in the forest,” the IG added.

A Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Odisha’s Malakangiri district on Thursday.
